One consortium to unite a growing international movement.

The era of genomic sequencing in medicine has arrived.

The vision of newborn sequencing as a routine, tailored health check is rapidly transitioning from theory to global practice. For decades, researchers worldwide have diligently pursued the implementation evidence for this technology.

The International Consortium on Newborn Sequencing (ICoNS) was not simply convened to observe this progress; it was established to accelerate, harmonize, and lead this global effort.

We united these world-class experts to transform independent findings into a cohesive, global framework. Our core mission is not just to share knowledge, but to aggregate research, standardize methodologies, and translate the original studies into rigorous, evidence-based public health guidelines for global adoption.

Since our inaugural International Conference on Newborn Sequencing in Boston in 2022, we have built the necessary governance structure.

The ICoNS Steering Committee, composed of our founding project leaders, now directs this growing movement.

As the singular unified body for newborn genomics research, ICoNS concentrates global efforts to establish the definitive standards for implementation. Joining ICoNS means becoming an active force in creating the globally accepted guidelines that will tangibly improve public health for this and every future generation.
