We introduce a research-use-only (RUO) whole genome sequencing (WGS) workflow optimized for dried blood spot (DBS) samples, enabling scalable genomic analysis in newborn populations. Leveraging Illumina’s long-standing expertise in delivering robust, high-quality genomic data across global population-scale initiatives, this workflow is built on a proven infrastructure and integrates Illumina technologies into a fully automated pipeline—encompassing DNA extraction, library preparation, sequencing, and data analysis.

Validated with real-world DBS samples, the workflow demonstrates consistent genome-wide coverage and technical reliability. It is purpose-built to support high-throughput applications in early-life genomic research and national screening programs.
